Sixteen Blue Labs and Scenario Workshops were successfully organized by BLUE_BOOST Project Partners in the last quarter of 2018 in their respective cities. Around 200 participants took part in them, mostly companies but also RDI representatives, local and regional authorities, new innovation agents, business support organisations etc. Thematics ranged from fishery, aquaculture, coastal tourism, boat building, coastal protection, maritime transport, according to the focus adopted in the single Partners’ region.
Starting from an overview of the state of the art, competent experts in the above mentioned sectors illustrated to the participants the innovation potential that these sectors have for further development and for actual innovative ‘blue growth’. The theoretical and ground-based presentations were subsequently enriched by direct interventions of the attendees primarily companies, who were invited to express their viewpoints related to problems, difficulties and obstacles encountered in their working experience in their respective sectors of reference. The ambitions and desired horizons were also voiced out, giving place to discussions and brainstorming on possible innovative solutions and how to reach them. As a result of these joint efforts and the moderation by the leading experts, these intense brainstorming sessions resulted in outlining the potential and perceived possibilities for innovation of the blue companies in some specific areas, to be further explored in close cooperation with the Knowledge Provider of their choice.
Another series of Blue Labs, Scenario Workshops and Hackathons will take place in the first quarter of 2019, again in each Partner’s city. Interested companies and stakeholders are invited to apply through the Project Partner of their territorial reference.
